Here are some of our most frequently asked questions. Don't see what you're looking for? Feel free to give us a call any time from 9am to 8pm Wednesday-Sunday and we'll be happy to assist you!

Location & Parking

How do I get to your building?

Once you turn onto Union Street, drive all the way to the dead end. Take a left into the parking lot. You will see a brick building that looks like an old school house with a sign that says MAIN ENTRANCE — that’s us! Once you enter the front door, walk all the way down the hall to the glass doors.

Where can I park?

If you are in the parking lot, you may ONLY park in the spots labeled “Blue Atlas Parking”. You may NOT park in the tenant/FHP spots or your car may be towed. Our building is also an apartment complex, and we share our space with the residents. Please help us respect our shared space by not taking up tenant parking spots!

We only have a few parking spots allotted to the restaurant, so they fill up fairly quickly. If there are no Blue Atlas parking spots when you arrive, all surrounding street parking is free. You may park on any of the side streets, or on the cobblestone road on the South side of our building.
 

Reservations & Seating

Do I need a reservation for lunch?

No! Our breakfast/lunch service is first come, first serve. Guests can order food and drinks at the barista counter in our market room and seat themselves wherever there is space available.

Do I need a reservation for dinner?

While we do accept walk-ins when available, we highly recommend making a reservation. This is especially true when the weather is nice. We do not set aside tables specifically for walk-ins, so all non-reserved tables are first come, first serve.

I want to come in for happy hour, do I have to sit at the bar?

Nope! Happy hour is 3-6pm Wednesday-Friday in all areas of the restaurant.

Why can't I find the option to book outside?

Outdoor seating is always weather dependent. If the weather forecast is looking good, outdoor reservations may be available as early as a week in advance. If there is any chance of precipitation, very high winds, temperatures above 90°, or temperatures below 50° we will not open outdoor reservations to be booked online.

If you would like to sit outside, but don’t see the option when booking your reservation, please write in the notes section that you would like to be moved if the weather permits, or call the restaurant to specify any seating preferences. 
 

I'm booking my table online, what do all of the reservation options mean?

With two dining rooms and a large outdoor space, we have quite a few different seating options available! All seating options have the same menu selections, and all of our seats have backs. 

DINING ROOM refers to our standard-height tables that seat anywhere from 2 to 8   guests. These tables may be either in our main or market dining rooms. If you have a preference for one area or the other, please make a note in the space provided when you book your reservation or give us a call to specify any seating preferences.
   
HIGH TOP tables are large, bar-height tables in our market room that fit parties of up to 4 guests comfortably.

COUNTER refers to our bar-height countertop in the market room. This is an intimate space for parties of 2 that features a beautiful view of our patio space and the Richmond skyline.

OUTDOOR tables are outside! Our patio space has two levels; a portico level, which is covered, but not enclosed, and a lower patio at the bottom of the schoolhouse stairs. Our lower patio is suitable for larger parties, and is wheelchair accessible through the gate on the South-facing side of the building. Please note, the umbrellas that cover our lower patio can not stay open in high winds, so we cannot guarantee they will be available for use.
